Criminal Defense for Felony and Misdemeanor Charges

From our Silverdale, Washington, law office, our attorneys represent members of our community who have been charged with a misdemeanor or felony. We are the contract public defender for the city of Port Orchard, and as such, are very familiar with court procedures and litigation.

We understand that being charged with a crime is a life-altering experience, even if you are acquitted of all charges. As your criminal defense lawyers, our goal is to keep you out of jail, have the charges dropped or win an acquittal in court. It is also important that we minimize the collateral damage such as the loss of driving privileges, loss of reputation, loss of security clearances at work or loss of licensing for your profession.

Vigorous Defense With Realistic Advice

Depending on where an arrest was made, and the facts of your case, we may be able to have your case dismissed or your record wiped clean. However, given the facts of your case, your best option may be to accept a plea agreement. If that is a realistic option, we will be straightforward and tell you that as well.

Below are some of the typical and not-so-typical criminal defense matters that we have handled:

  • Speeding ticket charged in Kitsap County and dismissed with less than five minutes spent in the courtroom
  • Clergy charged with felony sexual conduct
  • Spouse charged with domestic violence and charges dropped for a plea agreement which included an anger management course
  • DUI charges dropped due to improper operation of breathalyzer equipment
  • Drug possession charges for possessing less than 40 grams of marijuana
  • Shoplifting, assault in a bar fight, theft, breaking and entering, underage drinking, probation violations, and much more

Once a Client — Always a Client

Because we are your neighbors as well as your lawyers, we try to help you learn from the experience, whether or not you are guilty of the crime. If you do not have a criminal history, we can often obtain a deal to defer sentencing after which, if you do not re-offend for a period of years, we can get a dismissal. This tactic prevents you from having a criminal conviction on your record.
